Thanks very much for joining us. This is my latest weekly video updating you on what’s been happening down here in Parliament and back in Chesterfield.
I attended Chesterfield Football Club’s Community Trust event to replace sharp bladed knives with rounded edge as part of their campaign on knife crime.
I went to the Chesterfield manufacturer, TaylarMade, to see their orthodontics range and hear about the issues facing their company as they look to expand their markets, both within the UK and across the EU.
I asked Government Ministers how they were going to ensure supported internship programmes, which particularly support young people with an EHC Plan to get into apprenticeships and find work.
I attended the Oceans APPG drop-in, ahead of World Oceans Day, to discuss their campaign to outlaw bottom trawling in all Marine Protected Areas.
I chaired the latest Environmental Audit Committee session on extreme heat.
I went to the Electric Vehicles Association drop-in to discuss how we can remove the barriers that prevent people being able to move over to electric vehicles. Particularly those that live within flats and in terraced properties.
I asked a question to the Home Secretary to raise the importance of ensuring that all communities are policed equally following the revelations about Henry Nowak’s terrible murder and the policing leading up to that.
On National Fish and Chip Day I called along to Inky Fish Bar to sample their goods and talk about the importance of fish and chips, not only to our economy, but also to the national psyche.
I went along to Chesterfield steel stockholder, TM Steels, to talk about some of their concerns about the upcoming changes to steel tariffs and to make representations on their behalf to Government and I had the pleasure of going too Ashgate Hospice’s Staveley store to volunteer, as part of the National Volunteer Week.
