Toby Perkins: Thank you, Mr Speaker. I welcome what my Rt Hon Friend has been doing on public procurement, specifically on Government procurement of car hire services, can he lay out what the Government is doing to ensure that Government is purchasing enough electric vehicles. Fleet industry is expected to have around 20% of its vehicles electric but less than 1% of Government purchases in the past were for electric vehicle hire. I know this is an issue the Government takes seriously. Can the Minister lay out what the Government’s doing to ensure we have more electric vehicles being hired by Government?
Minister: Thank you, Mr Speaker. He raises an extremely important point. He’s right about the reforms we are trying to bring in public procurement and to improve the number of electric vehicles. I will right to him with the specifics, if that’s ok, about what’s going on with the Government car service on this.
