So, this week was National Volunteer’s Week. It was also a busy week here in Parliament. Here is some of what I have been up to.
I went to Chesterfield Salvation Army Centre to attend their monthly coffee morning and also to meet staff in their really popular charity shop.
I spoke in Parliament about my amendments to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill aimed to improve the environment alongside the planning and infrastructure growth the Government wants to see.
I met with England Lioness’, Rachel Daly at a reception here in Parliament to wish the women’s Euro 25 team the best of luck before this year’s tournament.
I went along to show my support for Fur Free Britain’s Private Member’s Bill that aims to have a fur free future for Britain.
I went to the Better Business Act campaign about another Private Member’s Bill that aims to see better business practices properly rewarded and I had an opportunity to present an award for the best manufacturing business at the Green Business Awards in London and this week, number 10 Downing Street hosted politics students and the School Parliament from St. Mary’s School in Chesterfield. I was happy to meet them and on Friday I was back in Parliament to debate the latest amendments to the Assisted Dying Bill which is continuing its passage through Parliament.
